Carl Cox first got his hand on this one as a promo. When jan sent it to me, i loved it and was more than happy to find out it was not yet released. Kid Dub we all know, but this EP introduces Dextress to the world. From the first time i heard it i simply loved it. Taking me back to the early 80’s electro that i loved so much… this track is totally fun but you can take it as you like. It is an incredibly catchy vocal and we have remixes form lou lou players, and another version by Kid Dub as well. For you 80’s heads…we got the 80s mix for you… to really top this off, we have a video directed by Stuart Birchall of YouKnow

Resident at the Mix Club in Paris, Oliviier Giacomotto has been playing with Ceeryl and tipped me on this one. “Air” has a classic proggy vibe with a riff that grabs you and does not let go. You know what they say, you can travel the world, but there is no place like home. Although not quite my home city, Matt Herdman is just down the road from me in Windsor, Canada. Despite its size, this city has brought us some huge talent. For me, Matt is next in line and brings Definitive full circle, going back to its roots while stepping into the future. Oh yeah… Wasted Intellect is the tune. Electro but more tek. This is the fresh sound I think embodies the spirit of Windsor/Detroit.

Has everyone tagged Kid Dub in MySpace, Facebook and Beatport? If not, then you’re one of the minority to not realize he has blown up over the past couple of his releases. “Tetris” broke him out big time, which he followed up with the first Definitive release “Future Shock” and “Boogeyman.” After just two singles on Definitive, it is apparent that he is the mad bomber that you must keep track of.
